As we process recent events at Cornell and throughout the district, we don’t want to forget to thank the teachers, staff, aides, substitute teachers, volunteers, and administrators at Cornell who have worked together tearfully and tirelessly to shield and protect our children as much as possible. Throughout the horrible, unforeseeable situation at Cornell, staff were able to remain calm, keep the students calm, and devise a plan to get children home safely without excess trauma from the scene.

If you are able, please take time to write an encouraging note to your child’s teacher, a staff member, and/or Mrs. Ojerio. This week has been upsetting in many ways, and it may be harder to head to school in the morning than it used to be for our Cornell staff, teachers, and students.

We’ll get through these difficult days by coming together as a community and surrounding each other with understanding, encouragement, and support.

As a small gesture of support, PTO will provide coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks to Cornell staff tomorrow morning.
