Teacher Appreciation, Family Fun Night, and Field Day are coming

Please join us tomorrow morning at 9am in the Cornell library to share your ideas and plan our upcoming events!

We are looking for creative ways to show our teachers and staff at Cornell how much they mean to us. We have an idea to get parents and students more involved in the whole-school plans, so please show up to help shape our plans. Teacher appreciation week is May 6-10.

This is our first opportunity to say THANK YOU to Jeff Klug and the Klug Law Firm for generously sponsoring our Mileage Club program costs and helping off-set the cost of Family Fun Night! Because we operate the program in-house, parents don’t have the extra burden of signing children up each year. Instead, children are given the choice to run, walk, or completely ignore it each M/W/F at lunch recess.

Family Fun Night will be held on Friday, May 17, from 6:30-8pm. This is our big bash celebrating a great year at Cornell and the end of our mileage club program. Students can choose to have fun with friends, enjoy a treat, purchase raffle tickets, eat popcorn, race in the inflatable, or continue running and earning those last few mileage club miles. Volunteer sign ups will be created, and our basket themes will be sent home soon.

Field day is Friday, May 31, from about 1pm-3:30pm. We have so much fun getting outside with the kids and being active! Ten stations staffed by parent volunteers will be visited by two classes at a time to complete fun, silly, tasty, or very wet tasks! Many parent volunteers are needed, so mark your calendars (if you haven’t already – we’ve had our full schedule of events on our website since August!).

As always, please send your questions and ideas to [email protected]!
