Posted by Next week Friday, May 31st, is our last volunteer opportunity of the year! Spend the afternoon with all the students and teachers of Cornell and help with a variety of outdoor games. We’ll have classes pair up and rotate around all 10 stations set up around the blacktop and soccer fields. Parents will run each station by explaining and facilitating the games for the two classes rotating together. After 8-9 minutes, the kids will all rotate stations. There are some water stations and a popsicle station, so be prepared! Volunteers are asked to arrive by 1:15pm to partner up and review the rules to their station. Field day officially starts at 1:45pm, and we’re targeting 3:30pm for our finish. Don’t forget, if you’re at school and wanting to take your child home with you after volunteering, you need to visit the office to sign out your student! Their teacher should also be advised. 🙂
We’d suggest parents send their kids wearing shoes they can both run in and get wet. Tough combo, we know. We’d also suggest kids wear sunscreen that day as we’ll be in the sun much of the afternoon.
Our rain date is scheduled for June 3, and we’ll address volunteer availability on that Friday should we need to postpone.
